Coastal Interpretive Center

The Center will be open the Friday after Thanksgiving, November 23, 2018 10AM-4PM.

The Center will be participating in Small Business Saturday, November 24, 2018.

The Center’s ‘Whale Tale Days’ begins November 21 through December 21. Bins of plush whales will be placed in various business throughout Ocean Shores and a whale may be taken in exchange for a donation. Whale Tale Days are to bring awareness of the Center to the public. These whales are small, cute and perfect for stocking stuffers.

We will be participating in FantaSea at the O.S. Convention Center, November 23-25. We will have many great books and items from our bookstore, Damon’s Outpost.

The Center’s Glimpses Lecture Series is held every third Thursday of the month, December through March. Lectures are held at the Shilo Inn Ocean Shores in the Olympia Room. 6:30PM, tickets $10 and sold at the door. Restaurant menu and wait service available in the lecture room. December 20, 2018 our speaker will be Robert Teague, author of ‘The Ghost Coast: A Shipwreck History of the Pacific Graveyard’. He will be speaking on shipwrecks and the development of coastal Washington.

In coordination with Giving Tuesday, November 27, the Center is having it’s annual Giving Campaign. Mailers will be sent and more information can be found at interpretivecenter.org, donations can be made on the site.

The Center is always looking for volunteers. Please call 360/289-4617 or visit interpretivecenter.org under ‘ways you can help the center’ and click on ‘volunteer’. We need volunteers interested in promotions, education, fundraising, outreach, exhibits and hosting.
