The Oyehut Wildlife area includes 682 acres of wildlife habitat, wetlands, tidal flats and world-class bird watching.

Damon Point State Park, also commonly known as Protection Island, is adjacent to the Wildlife Area and extends nearly a mile into Grays Harbor's entrance. The state park offers excellent views of the shipping lanes and Westport just across the bay. The park includes a natural area for walking, beach combing, and bird watching. There is abundant wildlife.

Located a mile north of Ocean Shores, the park has 187 developed, private, wooded campsites, some with full hookups. Beach access, picnic area near the beach. This is one of the busier state parks in Washington, so reservations during the peak summer months are highly recommended.


Ocean Shores Parks and Recreation

 

 

Ocean Shores is home to more than 23 miles of fresh water, navigable, interconnected waterways. Duck Lake is stocked and considered one of the best year round fishing lakes in Western Washington. The lake is power-boat accessible. Non-motorized boats are recommended in the scenic canal system.

The Ocean Shores peninsula (6,000 acres) features six miles of public sandy ocean beaches, approximately 170 acres at high tide. The beaches are popular for clamming (in season), jetty and surf fishing, whale watching, seashell and driftwood collecting. Horse rentals along the beach are available throughout the year. There are five public beach access points in Ocean Shores.

Chinook Park has a boat launch and fishing pier on Duck Lake. Special facilities for handicapped are also available.

North Bay Park is also situated on Duck Lake with restroom facilities, parking area, public dock, boat ramp, fishing, picnic shelter, baseball field and a tennis court.

Emerson Park features a tennis court and is conveniently located near downtown Ocean Shores.

 

Home to all three temperate rain forests in North America, the Hoh, Quinault and Queets. The southern entrance (Lake Quinault) is 40 miles northeast of Ocean Shores.

The Ocean Shores Marina is located at the southern tip of the Ocean Shores peninsula, approximately five miles south of the downtown core area. It's home to the commercial fishing fleet, dockside seafood sales, and is a pick-up point for fishing and whale watching charters. Transient moorage is available. There are 99 RV and camping spaces all with full hookups.
